About me

Haresh Aswani is the Managing Director - Africa for Tolaram, a Singapore enterprise focused on building brands in emerging markets and positively impacting the communities it operates within. He is also one of the founding Family Council members for the Tolaram Family Office.

Tolaram is one of the Africa’s largest consumer goods companies and it collaborates with multinational corporations such as Indofood, Arla, Kellogg's, Colgate-Palmolive, and Kimberly-Clark to manufacture essential consumer goods.

Tolaram has also built Nigeria’s first privately owned free zone with an integrated deep seaport and its fully operational.

His extensive experience spans over four decades, during which he has led various investments in manufacturing and distributing consumer packed goods, logistics, infrastructure, and power projects throughout Africa.

Haresh is also a dedicated advocate for business growth and has played a crucial role in fostering bilateral relations between Nigeria and Singapore. His efforts in organizing Nigeria Singapore Business Forums highlight his commitment to socio-economic development in Nigeria, earning him several prestigious awards.

Additionally, he holds the position of Vice-Chairman of the Africa Business Group within the Singapore Business Federation. He is also serving his sixth term as Singapore's Honorary Consul-General to Nigeria, reinforcing his influence in promoting business opportunities across continents.

He was honored with a Chieftaincy title in May 2005 in recognition of his commitment to the economic development of Nigeria and the Ota community. He was named "Most Outstanding Industrialist of the Year (Employment Generation)" from the Ogun State Chapter of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN). De-United Food Industries, was named "Most Outstanding in Corporate Social Responsibility Company of the Year" on 27 November 2005. He was awarded the prestigious National Honor of MFR (Member of the Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria) in December 2006.
